Twenty reasons why vitamin D is better than a swine flu vaccine

Twenty reasons why vitamin D is better than a swine flu vaccine

I have made the personal decision not to take the swine flu vaccine because it has too many unknowns... Instead I am working to keep my immune system in top form... Here is a great article on how to do just that with Vit. D. Check it out... Have a great weekend everyone!

After talking to my doctor and many others I did get the vaccine. It's made by the same people that make the seasonal flu vaccine and I heard it would have been in the regular seasonal flu vaccine if they would have known about the H1N1 strand early enough. Everybody has their reasoning to get it or not but I'm trusting my doctors and health care providers.

I wish you luck Lisa..... So far, I haven't had any sickness this flu season... My daughter on the other hand, has already experienced the Swine flu...She is over it now and back to school, thank goodness.

I probably would not have gotten the vaccine because I have never really gotten the flu but because I am pregnant my OB recommended it. I'm sure most people who catch swine flu and are pretty healthy can get over it pretty nicely without any problems. That's probably the reason Bonnie got over it quickly. :)

I'm getting the h1n1 vaccine. I already take vitamins, but since I'm high risk and susceptible to just the common cold and seasonal flu-I need to give myself all the help I can get.

Lisa and Sherpa, we all make our choices and then we live with whatever happens... Good luck to you both.... Hey Sherpa, your Yankees won!

We got regular flu shots before leaving on our trip. Our doctor said we didn't need to take the HlNl.

Hi Lucy,

I will go read the article right after I comment. I usually take the regular flu shot every year, and my doctor gave me pneumonia shot 2 years ago, which protects for 5 years, he said, but I don't believe I will take the swine flu shot. I don't think it's recommended for my age group anyway. I am on Vitamin D therapy as it is, at the moment, so maybe that will help. Thanks for the input, and the link. Have a great weekend.

Good reasons to take Vitamin D Lucy! I didn't get the shot, but I did get my regular seasonal flu shot.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

I've never taken a flu shot and if I've ever had the flu, it was a very mild case. Maybe I've just been blessed in the past. I don't intend to get either flu shot this year either. If I end up with the flu I guess I'll reconsider next flu season.

Happy weekend, Lucy. :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Same here, Lucy. No vaccine for me, even thought I'm a teacher. I've never had the flu, and I'm taking precautions to make sure I don't start now.

I take a vitamin B supplement, and I think my "all in one" vitamin has plenty of D in it. I'll check.

Thanks for the information - very helpful!

No vacs in our house either :)

We were all sick already, and we were in a high-risk area. We got the swine flu. We all pulled through just fine. (we did the suppliments while we were sick too, and a bunch of natural remedies).

If I'd been near or in my 3rd trimester PG I would have gotten it, maybe. Not sure! Glad I didn't have to make that decision... now we've had it, no need for vac :)
