"And then some................

These three little words are the secret to success.

They are the difference between average people and top people in most companies.
The top people always do what is expected...and then some.

They are thoughtful of others; they are considerate and kind...and then some.

They meet their responsibilities fairly and squarely...and then some.

They are good friends and helpful neighbors...and then some.

They can be counted on in an emergency...and then some.

I am thankful for people like this, for they make the world a better place. Their spirit of service is summed up in these three little words... And then some."

"When we have done our best, we can await the results in peace." ~Unknown

Note from Lucy: I found these words from the Simple Truths webpage.... I believe that when we give our best our Father in Heaven is pleased with us and we will receive blessings from above... Being in the service of others can make you a happy person.. Have a great day everyone.

Very nice post, Lucy. It is more blessed to give than to receive!

I need CCB's old bosses email so I could sent them to him. I don't think he got the memo.

Well Lucy, you are right. About top on my list is President Johnson. I got to shake his hand when he visited NASA and I was working there.

Bill Clinton came to our college, I was about fifteen feet from him but the crowd control didn't let the people in my section shake his hand.

I almost got to ride the elevator with George H. Bush in Jones Hall but the Secret Service made all of us get out of the elevator for him and Barbara. His seat was on the isle about twenty five seats from the front, he talked with a lot when he got to his chair.
George H. also sat a few rows (his seat was in the very front row, ours was four rows back) at an Astros game a couple of times.

I guess that crowd bores you enough, I won't continue even though I could. (I did work with the astronauts NASA.)
..
If it matters, I am one of the five percent of Americans who are card carrying Republicans. I don't even know Knute G. or Roosh L.
And if it matters I used to be a Democrat back when it paid to be one.

Amazing. Something I need to work on... lately I've been feeling shirky. I don't shirk, but the routine of life gets to you every once in a while, you know what I mean? I need to start doing some Then Some. ;)

Seems sometimes that there are precious few of those people around, except maybe in government. They tax us to the hilt, and then some.

Dear Lucy ~~ I enjoyed this post - and then some. Three important words
Thanks for your comments and Yes it would be scary if we stood behind Mother Teresa, but I doubt God would say she should have done more. I think she did a wonderful job helping others.
I pray the Hurricane season will be kind to you, my friend. I always
watch the news. Take care, Lucy.
Love, Merle.

I've known And Then Some people over the years, and i agree very much with this post.
I pray God blesses you, Lucy... and then some more on top of that for good measure.
I also really like the quote you listed there. All we can do is our best, and the rest is outside of our hands.
